Guernsey Marathon Update - Race Postponed

We have spent the last couple of weeks speaking with local authorities and stakeholders about the ongoing situation with COVID-19 in Guernsey and how it may affect our event.

With the best interests of our runners, stakeholders and the wider community in mind, working with our partners, we have made the decision to postpone the Guernsey Marathon to a date later in the year, to support the Island’s fight against COVID-19.

Our team have been working hard behind the scenes trying to find a suitable date that allows us to plan with confidence, and fits in with the busy events calendar for 2021.

When the island-wide lockdown ends, we anticipate that there will still be measures in place such as social distancing and limits on gatherings & events for a period of time. We are also conscious that many of you, along with our suppliers and partners may proactively seek to avoid large gatherings over this period.

Therefore, with the above in mind, the Guernsey Marathon that was due to take place on Sunday 28 March will now take place on Sunday 24 October 2021.

All runners who have already entered the Guernsey Marathon will automatically have their entries deferred to the new event date. Our team have sent an email to all registered runners with further information.

We understand that the postponement will be disappointing for many of you, however, we hope you can appreciate it is the best option for our runners, volunteers and the wider community, and we look forward to welcoming you in October 2021.

Thank you
